Impact Echo click here
|
Impact-Echo is a method for nondestructive evaluation of concrete and masonry, based on the use of impact-generated stress (sound) waves that propagate through the structure and are reflected by internal flaws and external surfaces. Impact-Echo can be used to make accurate, nondestructive, ASTM approved measurements of thickness in concrete slabs and plates, (ASTM Standard C 1383 - 98a). It can also be used to determine the location and extent of flaws such as cracks, delaminations, voids, honeycombing and debonding in plain, reinforced and post-tensioned concrete structures. It can locate voids in the subgrade directly beneath slabs and pavements. It can be used to determine thickness or locate cracks, voids and other defects in masonry structures where the brick or block units are bonded together with mortar. Impact-echo is not adversely affected by the presence of steel reinforcing bars. |

GPR - click here
|
Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) is a high-frequency electromagnetic method that our company successfully applies to a number of engineering problems associated with both new and aging concrete structures. A GPR system radiates short pulses of high-frequency EM energy into the ground from a transmitting antenna. This EM wave propagates in the ground at a velocity that is primarily a function of the relative dielectric permitivity of subsurface materials. When this wave encounters the interface of two materials having different dielectric properties, a portion of the energy is reflected back to the surface, where it is detected by a receiver antenna and transmitted to a control unit for processing and display.

Monitoring / Data Logging - click here
|
Data logging is the term used to record information to a microcomputer about its surrounding environment. Many structural problems can best be understood by data logging relevant parameters affecting a structure. Tekron Services has several types of data logging computers but specializes in utilizing self-contained miniaturized data loggers which usually produce cost-effective monitoring solutions. Since these instruments are frequently easy to install, a monitoring solution can often be sent to a client with instructions for setup. |

Structural Inspections / Evaluations - click here

Tekron Services performs NDT related evaluations of a wide range of structures including buildings, bridges, culverts, parking structures, industrial facilities, tanks, marine structures, tunnels, and retaining structures. These evaluations may be necessary because of existing deterioration, structural failures, assessment of original design, or verification of capacities given in “as-built” conditions.
